They met –
Neda: I’m a pessimistic person, but with an optimistic view as well. I expect the worst but plan to make it the best. I was expecting someone who is not a match for me at all.
Finn: I was kind of nervous. I thought it would be some person I didn’t know so I was like, “Oh I should shave, clip my fingernails and have a shower before hand.” It was nerve racking.
Neda: He was in my drama class last year.
Finn: We weren’t really friends, but I kind of knew her. We didn’t really hang out. So it was good to catch up with her. I think we were both nervous at the start, but then we had enough to talk about.
Neda: My mom was making fun of me, she was like, “Watch it be some scrawny little freshman boy,” because I am like 5’ 9”. Most of the time it wasn’t awkward because we talked about things we had in common, like drama and teachers.
Second date?-
Finn: No.
Neda: No, I don’t think so. He’s a nice guy, but I just don’t really feel a connection.
In the end, any advice?
Finn: I would say you should not have any expectations going in, because then you will be surprised by how much fun you have and you will get to meet someone new. Or you will get to talk to someone you sort of knew and you can catch up with them.
Neda: I was having fun, it went pretty well. Plan for things to talk about. It doesn’t even have to be logical; it can be anything as long as it sparks a conversation. I guess rambling on is better than not talking at all.
