Q: How have you seen yourself change as a player this year?
A: I have developed more skills and worked on getting a lot of new skills that I learned and perfected.
Q: What are your goals to improve upon as a player this year?
A: My goals in field hockey are to make sure that all of defense, which I play, communicates correctly so that goals don’t get scored on us. I probably have to be a little nicer; I yell a lot.
Q: What do you think you bring to the team?
A: Because I am a sweeper and I yell, and our goalie doesn’t really yell, I’m just an effective person on the team. When people don’t know what’s going on, I communicate that and I will tell someone to do whatever, even if it’s mean. I just make sure that everyone knows that after, I was just into the game and that’s why I am the way I am.
Q: How would you describe the atmosphere of the team?
A: I actually think we work really well together. We can be very uptight and rude to each other at times, but it’s our intent to be constructive, without really being nice about things. But I think when we are on the field, we play really well together; we communicate and we pass.
Q: Why do you play field hockey?
A: I play field hockey because I really like the sport, and my sister played. I would always go to her games and watch her play, and I was like, “wow, this is kind of cool.” It’s just a different sport that I really like.
