What are the positive effects of teen dating?
Although it’s widely-known that teen dating can distract students from academical studies, there can be definitely positive effects as well.
Joelle Ducharme – Junior: (currently in a relationship)
When you have problems, you always have someone to share them with. It makes you happy.
Dominic Glennon – Junior:
You always have that one person whose got your back no matter what.
Sean McDonough (senior): (currently in a relationship)
Sean: It’s just someone who I can really just be open with, just be honest with, and not have to hide anything from, because having to keep things in, having to keep things bottled in is stressful and so we made it a point in the beginning of our relationship to not keep anything from each other.
Noah Nsangou and Claire Malkin – Juniors:
Claire: I guess, just to have someone who supports me.
Noah: Yeah, it’s like a whole different kind of thing being in a relationship; hanging out with your girlfriend is completely different from hanging out with your friends. It’s kind of great, just to have someone who is closer than everybody else.
Jan Simonds – Junior:
The person you are with can be an extension of yourself.
Andy Kim – Junior:
If you have a long day or a hard test, it’s nice and relieving to see them in the hallways or just to have lunch with them. If you have class with them, you know, it makes the class so much more bearable.

I feel like its only you being with someone that makes you happy, someone who can support you and has no ulterior motives (if it’s the right person) and yeah, there will be fights but it helps you understand what it’s like and whether you’re mature enough or not.
