Wednesday, Nov. 12 marked the first day the high school basketball recruits could sign their letters of intent. Senior Raven Brathwaite wasted no time in committing to the University of New Hampshire. Friends, family, coaches and teammates gathered in the MLK room on Tuesday night to watch as an emotional Brathwaite fulfilled a childhood dream.
“This has been a goal of mine since I started playing basketball, and I’ve worked incredibly hard,” Brathwaite said. “The Brookline community has supported me through my career.”
Going into the 2015 season, Brathwaite, a 6-foot-4-inch center, is ranked as the 16th best female basketball player in the state by Mass Prep Stars. She averaged a double-double last season and was awarded a Bay State All Star honorable mention for her performance.
The UNH Wildcats play in the Division I America East Conference.
