Q: How does friendship affect swimming?
A: On the swim team, everyone is really close. There are not that many people, so we are all very connected. Swimming is a really competitive sport, so when we have a teammate racing, we are always on the side of the pool cheering for them and that really motivates us to not only do well ourselves, but also for the team. We all play a very vital role in the team.
Q: What are some challenges that you have faced while swimming?
A: It is hard to motivate myself to just work hard every single day because it is a lot of working, and it is a lot of hours of pure exercise. So, it is really hard for me to do my best each day.
Q: If you could meet one famous athlete affiliated with your sport, who would that be?
A: Michael Phelps, because obviously he is the most well-known athlete. I just want to know his mental strength in swimming, how he is able to to keep going, even if he is tired of everything.
Q: For the swimming season that is coming up, what are the goals that you have set?
A: For this upcoming season, I want to make Sectionals and States.
-Q: What do you have to do to achieve your goals?
A: I have to work a lot harder to build my strength physically and mentally, and just keep pushing even when I don’t want to push anymore.
