The girls swim team had another successful outing today as they improved to 4-1 on the season against Boston Latin.

Brookline was led by their captain, senior Emily Bivens, who came in first place in both the 200 Free and the 500 free races.

While Bivens was a real factor in the victory, the entire team showed up and got the job done. The first place winner belonged to the Warriors in 10 of the 11 races, with the lone Boston Latin victory coming by less than a second in the 100 breast.

Boston Latin had no one participating in the diving competition, giving Brookline an automatic victory. But the Warrior divers performed well nonetheless, including first place winner senior Jessica Leipman, who scored well over 5.0.

“I’m proud of myself,” Leipman said after the meet.

Leipman is only a first year diver and praised her teammates for their attitude and support.

“I started diving a few months ago and it’s been really great joining the team,” Leipman said. “Everyone is so welcoming and I’m really happy about that.”

Bivens expressed her satisfaction the team after collecting their fourth victory in five meets since the season began.

“Ever since I’ve been here it’s been the best start we’ve gotten off to,” Bivens said.

Bivens also stressed that the future is bright for the team, especially for the rest of this season.
“It’s great that this team is being left to such a great and powerful group of girls,” said Bivens. “There’s a lot to look forward to.”
