Sag: Is it more important to get a win or lose and learn?
AF: Get a win, always. I’ve had enough losing and learning these past couple years. I’m a senior. It’s time to win.
Sag: As a captain, what do you do to be a good leader?
AF: I try to lead by example. I set a high standard for my teammates to follow both on and off the field.
Sag: Do you still enjoy practice?
AF: Practicing is both physically and mentally exhausting, but we need to do it in order to win, so that pulls me through it.
Sag: What is your biggest challenge, and how have you tried to overcome it?
AF: I am undersized to be a middle linebacker in this league but I try to overcome it by working speed and agility into my game.
Sag: What is the best advice you have ever been given?
AF: Coaches always tell me to listen and grow from criticism, not to take it personally. This has helped me grow as a human being in all aspects of my life.
Sag: How many times have you been injured this year?
AF: Not once this past year. You can’t hurt steel.
Sag: Is there anything you would like to add?
AF: Please come out to our games. I promise we will put on a show like none you’ve seen from a Brookline football team in the past. The sky is the limit.
