As part of Transgender Week of Remembrance, students held an outdoor, candle-lit vigil on the sidewalk bordering Cypress Field, across from the school. Beneath trees strung with paper cranes, the students remembered those who have been killed or have committed suicide due to anti-transgender prejudice. Additionally, the Gay-Straight Alliance held assemblies during A, B, E and G blocks in order to raise awareness of hate crimes committed against transgender individuals and to educate the community about the meaning of being transgender.
