Dr. Bill Lupini, superintendent of the Brookline Public Schools, has accepted the position of Interim Superintendent at the Essex Technical High School District in Hathorne, Massachusetts. Lupini is currently in the process of negotiating a contract with the Essex Technical district.

According to emails sent by him and by the Brookline School Committee to Brookline faculty, he had been searching for a position which would offer him more “professional challenges”. He will most likely make the switch during this school year.

Below is the email Lupini sent confirming his acceptance as Interim Superintendent at Essex.

Dear Colleagues:

Earlier this week I wrote to tell you that I had been named a finalist for the position of Interim Superintendent with the Essex Technical High School District in Hathorne, Massachusetts. On Thursday evening I was offered that position and I have accepted, pending the successful negotiations of a contract. If we are able to agree to a contract, I will be working closely with the Brookline School Committee and Leadership Team on a transition plan that is appropriate both for Brookline and Essex.

I hope that each of you have a terrific weekend.

Best,
Bill
