PLAYER PROFILE: Ari Contente, varsity softball

I started playing softball freshman year, but when I was little, from third to fifth grade, I played baseball, so that helped. I played with boys. I was the only girl on the team for most of the years. It was interesting, but it wasn’t bad. I got along with them.

What is your goal for the upcoming season?

To win more than one game this year and to have a game where I do not make any errors.

When and how did you start playing softball?

I started playing softball freshman year, but when I was little, from third to fifth grade, I played baseball, so that helped. I played with boys. I was the only girl on the team for most of the years. It was interesting, but it wasn’t bad. I got along with them.

If you could be any player on your team, who would you be?

I would be [senior] Steffi Gaehde because she is very fun and upbeat, and when she makes a mistake, she never really gets down on it. She always picks people up.

What is your ultimate goal with softball?

Just to have fun.
