Letter to parents informing of elevated lead in water fountain

Alan Balsam, Director of Health and Human Services in Brookline sent out an email to parents regarding the elevated rates of lead found in the water fountain in the Unified Arts building. In his email, sent June 1, he explained the response of the Town, which is to turn off al water fountains inside the UA building. The Culinary Arts Program has been provided with the Town’s Bottled Water Protocol for Cooking and Consumption to be discussed in class with students today, but the room tested below the DEP standard levels.
According to the email, more tests will be conducted to address the Town’s water concerns.
