On June 20, Officers Prentice Pilot and Estifanos Zerai-Misgun filed a new lawsuit against the Town of Brookline in Massachusetts Supreme Court, according to a statement from their lawyers. In Dec. 2015, Pilot and Zerai-Misgun alleged racial discrimination within the Brookline Police Department, which left them feeling unsafe. Since then, the BPD has released a report after a five-month investigation, saying that “there is no hostile racial climate or culture of racism exists in the Brookline Police Department.” Pilot and Zerai-Misgun now look for outside intervention to remedy the problems within the Department and the town. Stay tuned for more updates.
