New Deputy Superintendent positions announced

The domains for both Deputy Superintendent positions differ. For example, Gittens will be working on developmental plans in the district, while Zimmerman will focus on the Special Education Department.

Nicole Gittens and Samuel Zimmerman were announced on June 21 as Deputy Superintendent of Teaching and Deputy Superintendent of Student Services, respectively, by Interim Superintendent Joe Connelly and incoming Superintendent Andrew Bott. Gittens and Zimmerman will fill vacancies in office. Gittens will begin working on July 1, and Zimmerman will begin working on August 1.

Gittens will be responsible for the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of teaching and learning, while Zimmerman’s domain will be special education, health services, guidance, registration and counseling and psychological services for Brookline Public Schools.
