Dear Sara,
Me and my friends have recently begun using Tinder and other dating apps. I have never thought my friends were racist, however, I keep feeling bothered by certain comments they make, usually along the lines of, “I’m just not attracted to Black people,” or, “I would only date a White person.” They claim that they’re not racist and just expressing personal preferences, and that everyone thinks the same way but is afraid of saying it. I’m probably biased since I’m Asian and plenty of people have told me that’s not their type, but don’t you think statements like the ones they’re making are pretty insensitive toward people of color?

I don’t know any other way to say this: I’m in love with my Chemistry teacher. What do I do?
