How long have you been playing?

Since freshman year. I played a bit before that. My dad always loved to play golf, so he’s the one who inspired me to play. I used to play with him, take some lessons and sometimes participate in competitions. However, freshman year was my first time playing on a team.

How have you seen yourself develop as a player?

I’ve definitely grown a lot since freshman year. I have a better swing, which is probably one of the most important things in golf. Your swing determines a lot. I have gotten a little smarter as a golfer. I think golf is really fun and I enjoy playing.

What do you think you personally bring to the team?

As a captain, I bring leadership. I help a lot of people and they follow me because I am a leader. This is my first year being a captain. I’ve watched the captains over the last two years and I’ve tried to copy their leadership. The coach told me he thought I’d be a good captain, so he chose me. As captain, I organize who starts, like remind people of practice, etc. I like it, I’m able to help out the coach and the players.
