Sag: How is your season going?
LM: Even though we haven’t won that many games, it’s been so much fun. The girls are probably one of the nicest group of girls I’ve ever been with. And the coaches, Coach Love and Coach Vendola, are so nice; if you need to talk to them, even if it’s not about soccer, they’ll always be there for you.
Sag: Why do you play soccer?
LM: I just really love being on a team, and I always have. It’s just something I’ve always done, and I really like it.
Sag: What have been some challenges for you?
LM: The games are a little bit different: it’s more physical, and the girls at least on the other team are really mean- they’ll say stuff to you and push you around. It’s not as much about who’s really good technically, it’s about who’s really good physically.
Sag: What other hobbies do you have?
LM: I like sailing in the summer, swimming, and hurdles for track.
Sag: Any words of advice for up-and-coming soccer players?
LM: Training hard over the summer really helps during the season. If you like soccer, just stick with it, because it will pay off.
