Senior Peter Fletcher
“I do a lot of music and I wanted to spend more time with the viola and composition. But doing a full academic workload and then trying to practice two or three hours a day and having time to compose, it wasn’t really working out, it wasn’t practical. I didn’t want to stop doing music though, so I came up with a plan with the headmaster at the time and my dean. We split my senior year over two years, doing half of my classes both years; this is my second year of that. So last year I did half my academic classes and the other times I was doing music here, going to classes at Boston Conservatory, practicing and filling my schedule with other musical activities. It was sad not to graduate with my main peer group, but I thought it was a really great opportunity and it’s worked out well.”
