Robin Toback
Ms. Toback is a school psychologist. She has worked at several Brookline elementary schools since coming to Brookline in 2004: Devotion, Heath and Lawrence. She looks forward to working with high school students.
What was the most interesting thing you did over the summer?
I was training for my first marathon, which was really interesting. I got to see how my body would respond to new challenges. I also worked in the Extended School Year Program for the Devotion school, which is the therapeutic learning center program for 1st through 3rd grade. This was my tenth year doing it.
What made you want to be a school psychologist?
I always knew I wanted to be a psychologist, but I didn’t know what area I wanted to focus on. I found out about school psychology randomly. I was at the University of Michigan and I got a flyer from Tufts University about it. I thought it seemed interesting, so I looked into it and thought it could be a really nice way to work with families and kids. School psychology is a good way to identify any difficulties that kids are having early on and try to intervene.
What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy running. I’ve been doing it for a while now, and it’s a really good way for me to release stress and process things that are challenging, both professionally and personally. I also love seeing movies and getting together with friends for coffee.
