What subject do you help with?

I help a teacher. I work with her with any tasks that she might need, like copying, and then I serve as an extra aid in the classroom. I go around and I provide academic support, one-on-one support with students and maintaining class expectations. I’m with an English teacher for five out of seven periods, and I work with a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior class in the Learning Center. I also help with a Pathway studies class. I assist in French I as well.

What’s your education background?

I’m originally from Vermont. I got my undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont in Burlington, I got that in public communication, and then I did two years of the AmeriCorps program. I got my master’s degree in Arizona, and it was in public administration at the University of Arizona.

What brought you to Brookline?

I was looking for a position in education, and I saw the posting and did a lot of research, and it seemed like it would be a good fit given my skills and that it’s a growing school. It’s ranked very well and has a lot of diversity and some gaps in education that I would be interested in doing some research on, as that is where my field is.

What are your main interests and hobbies?

I am a big runner. I have done a lot of marathons, so in my free time I do a lot of running and staying in shape outside, biking and hiking. I also like to do fun things in the city–go to concerts and stuff with my roommates.
