Peeps on the street: What do you think is the best part of high school?
Allie Mundis, senior
“My favorite parts about BHS are the extracurricular activities, ultimate frisbee, food justice club, there’s just so many different opportunities for students to get involved. I also love how supportive the teachers are.”
Henry Bulkeley, junior
“The educational opportunities that we have, and the ability to really choose your career path and what classes you want to take. It’s the freedom that the high school has given us.”
Edwin Ruiz, sophomore
“My favorite part is probably X-Block. I’m part of the Slam Poetry club, and we kind of just chill and talk about our feelings through the poems that we write. It’s a good experience to be able to understand what other people are feeling sometimes, and to know that people relate to you.”
Manuel Lancastre, sophomore
“My favorite part is the soccer team. I really enjoy playing soccer, and it’s a great way to meet new people and make new friends. It’s one of my favorite things to do, so it’s definitely one of my favorite parts of school.”
Nathaniel Cox, senior
“I think that the best part of the high school is the math department, as they have been very good to me, and allowed me access to unique opportunities most high schools don’t give, such as being able to skip a grade, and being able to participate in an independent study that isn’t usually offered at the high school.”
Nia McConnico, freshman
“I like X-Block, where you get open campus and you get to do what you want, and have time to get yourself together. I like how we have the choice during lunch to sit anywhere you want, you don’t have to crowd in that cafeteria. I like the general freedom of the school.”
Roni Bitan, freshman
“I think that the ELL is the best part because a lot of students from other countries go here and learn together. I like that we are all together and laugh about our mistakes and we aren’t really nervous.”
Sophie Tsekov, sophomore
“I think the best part of the high school is the diversity, I guess you could say. There are a lot of different people from different cultural stances and financial stances. I think it’s really cool and makes a really interesting community.”
