What responsibilities come with this job?
At first, when I was in the RISE Program, my responsibilities were helping students function throughout the day. So I would take them to classes, transition them to other classes, help them with their work. Since I’m in the ExCEL Program right now, my responsibility is helping students one-to-one with organizational skills, social skills, emotional skills, and just be that role model in that kid’s life.
What do you think of the BHS community?
I think it’s really good. I think you guys are well rounded. You guys are definitely aware of your issues. The community is definitely trying to accept everyone, which is a great thing.
What was the most interesting thing you did this summer?
I spent my summer in New York. I was doing off Broadway musicals. I’ve been doing music and acting this whole summer, and it’s been a great experience. It’s definitely been a chance to be able to live my dream to be on Broadway and also TV and film.
What was it like getting to live your dream?
It was definitely a lot of work. We had days where I was tired, but in the end I definitely enjoyed every minute of it.
