About Me:
I’m a runner, professional napper, and am a great dancer at parties but can’t actually dance for real. I’m surprisingly competitive and enjoy competition shows. I also enjoy trashy teen-movies and can appreciate an artsy slow-burn type of film. I am mainly a sucker for pop music and I really enjoy artists who are not afraid to be bold with their lyrics and production.
TV Recommendations:
Two of my favorite Netflix shows right now are produced in Spain and in Spanish. They’re both really mindblowingly good and worth the language hurdle. Turn on subtitles.
-“Elite.” A high school murder mystery
-“Money Heist.” Badass characters, exciting plot, tons of action and suspense.
Other favorites of mine on Netflix include “Next in Fashion,” “Terrace House, ” “Tidying up with Mary Kondo,” “Queer Eye,” and “Sex Education”
Movie Recommendations:
-“Ladybird” for rent on Youtube. A coming of age story where the spunky protagonist, high school senior “Ladybird,” is more than ready to leave her private catholic school, overbearing parents, and boring Sacramento hometown. Her family’s financial struggles clash with her social life and college plans.
-“Booksmart” for rent on Youtube. Two best friends that are seniors in high school realize that they’ve spent their whole high school time studying and decide to go all out in their last days.
Music Recommendations:
Some favorite artists + Albums listed below
-“CTRL” by SZA
-“My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” by Kanye West
-”Ellipse” by Imogen Heap
-“The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do” by Fiona Apple
-“Post” by Bjork is modern, experimental, and completely odd but in the best way possible.
-“Vespertine” by Bjork makes me feel like a nature queen basking in the sunlight with the sounds of the tropical jungles buzzing above me.
What I’ll be checking out in the next two weeks:
On Netflix I want to watch “Love is Blind,” and “You,” as well as the movies “Roma” and “The King.” I’m also excited to finally watch “Parasite.” For music I’m going to try to go through all of Kanye West’s discographyAnd I’m also going to try to read! Titles I’m considering “100 Years of Solitude” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, “A Room of One’s Own” by Virginia Woolf, “11/22/63” by Stephen King.
