What is your favorite Sagamore memory?
The Sag provided a great community within the high school. I could always find friends in the Sag Room to eat lunch with, and I got to know some of my fellow writers very well. I looked forward to the block when The Sag would meet every day because I could hang out with my friends. We weren’t always so productive during that block, but it was fun.

What are you doing now?
I’m now a junior at Cornell studying labor economics and computer science.

What did you gain from being on The Sagamore?
When I was Business Manager, I was very successful at building relationships with local businesses and getting them to advertise with us. My time as Business Manager on The Sag definitely contributed to my interest in majoring in a business-related topic.

What was something challenging about being on The Sagamore?
Managing both school work and work for the Sag was challenging at first but it gave me valuable time-management skills.

Do you use any of the skills you learned in The Sag in your current day life? If so, what?
I actually do use a lot of the skills I learned on The Sag in everyday life. As a reporter, I learned how to ask meaningful follow-up questions to people that get more than just yes or no answers. This is an invaluable conversational skill I’ve used to keep conversations going both when networking and in personal settings. Being a Business Manager taught me how to maintain respectful and friendly relationships which is always important.

What is one of the most important lessons you’ve learned from The Sag?
As Business Manager, I learned the value of putting 110 percent into what you do. Getting all those advertisers is an accomplishment I can always look back on as motivation to excel in future roles.
