I’ve been swimming my whole life. My parents thought it was a necessary skill for everyone to have to be safe. I got really into it and I enjoy swimming competitively.

What got you into swimming?
I swam at Boston University when I was younger and they had a program setup by various different swim levels. I finished level four and they asked me if I wanted to try out for the swim team. My mom says I could try out and if I didn’t like it I could stop but after swimming for a year I continued.
What are your goals for this season personally and as a team?
Personally, I want to become more confident with all my strokes and improve my technique. As a team, I want everyone to stay focused during practice so we can perform at our best and place at sectionals or states.
What are you going to miss most about being on the team?
I’m going to miss the environment. I’ve been with most people for four years and others even longer. It’s been so nice to be able to go to a family right after school where we all share this bond through swimming.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I know how to juggle. Not with knives or fire but I can juggle clementines.

What got you into swimming?
I was 5 years old and my cousin who is 2 months younger than me learned how to swim and I was so competitive that I felt like I needed to learn. I ended up loving it so I started swimming lessons and joined the team when I was 7. I’ve swam ever since.
What are your goals for this season personally and as a team?
Personally, I feel like I have lost my love for the sport over the years because I’ve been doing it for so long, so I want to find joy again through practices and reduce my stress levels during meets. I also want to make sectionals. Teamwise, I want to build a stronger community because it’s become cliquey in past years and I think team bonding and more community work will strengthen the team as a whole.
What are you going to miss most about being on the team?
I’m going to miss daily practice surrounded by the community. I’m also really excited for our senior meet because every year we have it and it’s such a special moment. I’ve been looking forward to it since my freshman year.
Fun fact?
I have nine siblings.
