Finally made it. Took near 16 hours, but we’re here. Berlin is an amazing place. Even on a Tuesday night everything is bright, open late and bustling. For dinner we had sausages from a little shop on the street by our hotel (eine Rostbratwurst, mit Sempf und Ketschup, bitte or one Rostbratwurst with mustard and ketchup) and shawarma from a Turkish place.
Everything here is delicious. I mean, extremely delicious. The Germans know how to do breakfast in a wonderful way that Americans don’t: a million different kinds of meat and small breads, live yogurt, hard-boiled eggs.
Today, we have opening ceremonies. Five and a half hours of watching each country give a little run down of their position on things. Stay tuned!
From Berlin,
