Sag: What is your favorite aspect of volleyball?

Friedler: I really like the whole team dynamic of the sport. It involves a lot of working together, and you have to be a cohesive to really be successful. It’s not really an individual talent, as much as it is people working together.

Sag: What is your favorite position to play?

Friedler: I’m the center, so I have to play in the target position at the top right. My job is to set the ball to the hitters so they can spike down on the other team. I’m not the best hitter in the world, so I think it’s nice to help my other teammates out.

Sag: What is your favorite part about the team?

Friedler: I like that it’s very laid back. I think that the mentality is not as much about winning, but just having fun and working hard to make your best effort. And for me, someone who is not super competitive sports-wise, it’s a good balance. I’ve learned a lot of teamwork, effort and focus– it’s easy to get distracted.

Sag: What individual goal do you have for the season?

Friedler: I don’t really have an individual goal, I just take it day by day. But I would definitely like to improve my skills all around. But mostly I guess want to improve my passing abilities, being able to pass the ball efficiently.
