Become A Contributor

An op-ed is a piece of journalistic writing meant to reflect one’s opinion on a topic that they have the relevant experience to write about. An op-ed must be an opinion, not a complaint, and must be supported by accurate information. Remember: The Cypress loves hot takes!

The Cypress’s requirements for writing an op-ed are that you are a Brookline High School student, have a subject that is relevant to the Brookline High School community and are willing to comply with our editing process.

In order to submit an op-ed, email your first draft to 25kleinbaume@brooklinek12.org and 25brendele@brooklinek12.org along with the following information:

1. Name
2. Grade
3. Category of your article (satire, opinion, etc.)
4. Angle of your article (what is the main point that you are trying to convince people of?)
5. Contact info (phone number, email, etc.)

The Warrior mascot needs to be renewed
Paving the way towards accessible affordable housing
Election Day should be a national holiday
