Thousands protest for abortion rights on Boston Common
Boston Common was packed on Saturday, May 14 with thousands of abortion rights supporters. The protest, organized by Planned Parenthood, was one of many “Bans Off Our Bodies” demonstrations held across the country on the same day. These protests come in response to a leaked Supreme Court document signaling the likely overturn of Roe v. Wade.
Speakers at the protest included President and CEO of the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts Jennifer Childs-Roshak, Massahusetts Attorney General Maura Healey and Senator Ed Markey. Leaders of the ACLU and Reproductive Equity Now also delivered speeches.
