Carlotta Zanini is a senior at the high school and has been on the Cypress staff since 2021. She enjoys traveling, eating good food, and listening to music. Carlotta is fluent in Italian and is an aspiring photographer.

The girls varsity basketball team faced the Newton North Tigers and won 81-60 on Friday, Feb. 3 in the Schluntz Gymnasium. The Warriors last played the Tigers on Jan. 6 and lost 54-49. Head coach Kendell Jones said this motivated the Warriors to play better and the Warriors got their redemption with a blowout win against the Tigers.

The boys and girls varsity basketball teams faced the Newton North Tigers on Friday, Jan. 6 at Newton North High School. Both teams fell to the Tigers, with the boys losing 65-28 and the girls losing 54-49. Both teams will play the Tigers again in the Schluntz Gym on Feb. 3.

Boys varsity basketball had a major win against the Weymouth Wildcats on Tuesday Dec. 13, out scoring them 84-60. The team considered this a big win especially with it being new head coach Johnny Williams first game and win with them.
