The School Committee unanimously voted to confirm Lincoln School Principal Andrew Bott as the next Superintendent on March 17, pending successful contract negotiations. The 9-0 vote occurred two weeks after a straw-poll vote, during which Bott received six votes, Bedford Superintendent Jon Sills received one vote and two members did not disclose a preference. Sills has since withdrawn his candidacy.

Before the vote, school committee members referred to Bott as a “visionary educational leader,” “problem solver” and as having “documented success hiring and maintaining staff of color.”
