Meet the 2024 fall captains: field hockey

CONTRIBUTED BY CHARLOTTE TOOLE

Charlotte Toole – Senior
What got you into field hockey?
I planned on playing soccer and got cut sophomore year and my mom wanted me to still be active, so she suggested field hockey and I tried out.
What are your goals for this season personally and as a team?
As a team, our goal is to make playoffs and have a strong run. For me, I want as many shoutouts as I can as the sweeper and a lot of our defense is new, so it’s important to help them figure out their positions and make them more comfortable.
What are you going to miss most about being on the team?
This year we started the Big Sister Program so we are paired up with a player on the freshman team and JV team, so I think having one year with them is going to be fun but I wish we had more than one year to get to know them and play with them.
Fun fact?
I went to church with Joe Biden last year.

What got you into field hockey?
I originally played soccer. I played from prek-8th grade but I didn’t want to play in high school so I tried out for field hockey freshman year and have been playing since then.
What are your goals for this season personally and as a team?
As a team, our main goal is to make playoffs and go from there. Personally, I want to set up the underclassmen to find their voices and leave them in a good place to continue for the future.
What are you going to miss most about being on the team?
I’m going to miss the community that’s been built throughout the past four years.
What is a fun fact about you?
I have two dogs but I’m also allergic to dogs.

Fiona Keegan-McGlinn – Senior
What got you into field hockey?
I discovered field hockey at sleep away camp growing up.
What are your goals for this season personally and as a team?
As a team, making playoffs is always a big goal and currently, communication is something we can work on. Personally, my goal is to be a leader on the field, using my voice more.
What are you going to miss most about being on the team?
The people; always having people to talk to and hangout with after school. We’ve really built up the program in the last four years so it’ll be hard to leave something we’ve worked so hard on.
What is a fun fact about you?
I taught Jayson Tatum’s kid how to swim this summer.
