As Brookline emerges from the depths of a particularly dreary winter into a well-deserved spring, cafes around the area are beginning to swap out comforting winter classics for refreshing spring beverages. This includes Brookline Village favorite Brothers & Sisters Co., located just one stop from the high school on the Green Line. The popular study spot debuted a new spring menu on April 12, 2026. Is it fit for the season ahead?
Note: There are two drinks on the spring menu not reviewed here, the strawberry matcha and the strawberry hibiscus lemonade. All drinks on the spring menu cost around $6.50 for an iced medium size.
Blueberry Pancake Latte (9/10):
This drink is definitely the highlight of the new menu. The blueberry and maple pancake flavor blend nicely, without one overpowering the other. Rare for a flavored latte, the coffee taste shines through the sweetness. Unlike other similar beverages (such as Dunkin’s incredibly sweet lattes), it’s possible to drink the Blueberry Pancake Latte without feeling gross afterward. The flavor is whimsical yet not a gimmick, making it a perfect, refreshing treat for springtime.
Sea Salt Honey Latte (4/10):
This drink is on the other end of the spectrum from the Blueberry Pancake Latte. Sea salt in coffee can work when done right, but in the Sea Salt Honey Latte, the saltiness level has been dialed up to 11. The honey’s sweetness, too, is far too strong. Compared to the fruity and floral flavors that define the new menu, this feels out of place for spring and would be a better addition to a fall lineup, alongside a pumpkin spice latte. For someone with particular taste buds—perhaps a superfan of chocolate-covered pretzels—this drink would probably be more enjoyable. Personally, it ranks at the bottom of the list for a weak flavor profile and an unclear seasonal fit.
Matcha Lavender Lemonade (7/10):
Brothers & Sisters Co.’s Matcha Lavender Lemonade pairs the floral flavor of the lavender and the lemon’s tartness well, so every sip is refreshing, not heavy. Aside from the aggressively green color and a bit of aftertaste, the matcha flavor is hard to pick up on. Had the cafe decided on a simple Lavender Lemonade, this would’ve been the perfect drink. Unfortunately, their failure to execute the ambitious matcha combination docks the drink to a 7/10.
Overall, Brothers & Sisters Co. has pulled off an enjoyable and energizing spring menu, with drinks sure to satisfy coffee and tea fans alike. While not every drink is a smash hit, the menu’s strong spots make it worth a visit.
